In death, a 13-year-old becomes a symbol of Syrian opposition

On April 29, people near Daraa, Syria advanced on the city looking to bring an end to the horrendous military siege going on there. These people wanted to bring Daraa many important supplies because the military rule there was so bad that bodies were left in the streets and secret medical clinics had to be established. On April 29 Daraa citizens were fired upon without reason by local security forces. Many were killed or wounded while still countless others were detained. Of the many detained was a young child named Hamza. Hamza was separated from his father during the shooting and on May 29 he was returned home. Unfortunately, despite his family's hopes, Hamza was given back to them dead with the body in terrible condition. His whole body was covered in bruises and he received several gunshot wounds to the chest on top of other injuries. No one is certain precisely what happened to young Hamza but the three gunshot wounds are extremely likely to be the primary cause of death. The death of this boy has brought much attention to the Syrian government and their terrible brutality against their own people.

This situation demonstrates the CBT of sin. It shows how totally depraved we are due to our sinful nature. Without God mankind will continue to do things such as this. This is why God has had to intervene and set up government to help restrain us. Ultimately, we must make a conscious decision to serve Him and turn from our evil ways if we truly want to not see more things like this.

May 21, 2011, and Other 'Judgement Days' That Have Come and Gone

Since at least Roman times people have been claiming to know the day of Christ's return. In Matthew 24:36 the Bible says that no one knows the time except the Father. May 21 is the most recent attempt to predict this apocalyptic event. As you can probably tell Christ's words in Matthew 24:36 have held true. Apparently Harold Camping, the man who created this conspiracy, had predicted years ago that the end of the world would be September 6, 2011. According to one of Mr. Camping's spokesmen, his original prediction was wrong due to some verses in Matthew 24 that through him off. Harold was significantly more confident in the May 21 prediction and spent large amounts of money advertising his claim. There have been many others who think the know when Christ's return.

This article is a good example. The author's intent in writing this article is to force people to form there own opinions on this event. This makes people more self sufficient and self-governing. Conservative group sues over bin Laden death photos

As we all know the U.S. killed al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. The U.S. government has denied public access to videos and pictures regarding Bin Laden's death. This has caused a great deal of tension between the government and some political groups. This tension finally came to a climax when a conservative watchdog group called "Judicial Watch" filed a lawsuit demanding the release of the material. The Department of Defense has been asked to comply with Judicial Watch. On May 3, the day after Osama Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan, Judicial Watch made requested that they be given access to the material but were denied. It has recently been discovered that within the past week some members of Congress have been allowed to view this same material. Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch claims that the Obama administration said they do not intend to comply with the Freedom of Information Law and wants to remind the Obama administration that they are not above the law. President Obama claims that the photos are not being released so they cannot insight anymore acts of violence or be used as propaganda.

This article is a good example of journalism. It gives us information and insights into what appears to be a very difficult situation. It is a battle of who said what between the Obama administration and Judicial watch. This shows us what is really going on in our government and the silly struggles they have. It makes us more self sufficient by forcing us to think for ourselves and decide whether we feel the Osama Bin Laden pictures should be released or not. This is why this article is journalism.

10-Year -Old Charged With Murdering Neo-Nazi Dad

A young boy in Riverside, California has gotten himself into a lot of trouble. Last Sunday at approximately 4am Jeff Hall's ten year old son shot him to death. Jeff Hall was leader of the National Socialist Movement and often led rallies outside Jewish synagogues. The motives behind this boy's actions are uncertain but mental stability is definitely at question. Consequently investigators are looking into factors that could influence a young person's mental state. It is possible that child abuse or neglect caused this boy to go on this violent rampage and there may be some truth to that statement since there were reportedly 4 recent cases of Child Protection investigations at the child's home. The boy is being held at a juvenile detention center until his court date on May 18, where a judge will decide what is to happen next. According to Matt Hardy, the boy's defender, crimes like this amongst young children are extremely rare and almost unheard of. Jeff Hall Had four other children who are all now being held in protective custody.
